Federation history

History of streetlifting and ISF

Streetlifting moved from informal weighted pull-up and dip contests into a federation sport when rules, judging, categories, protocols, records and standards became repeatable across countries.

2018-2019 international starts

Eastern Europe 2018, Eurasia 2018, Asia 2019 and the 2019 European Championship in Moscow tested multi-country judging, categories and protocols.

2020-2022 system stress test

The pandemic period accelerated remote and synchronized formats, followed by the first official ISF World Championship in the Netherlands and Kazakhstan in June 2022.

2023-2025 continental growth

European, Asian and world starts expanded the calendar, including Amsterdam, Uralsk and Italy events; Rules v5.1 then clarified Streetlifting and Weighted Calisthenics.

2026 Rules v5.2

ISF Technical Rules v5.2 took effect on October 1, 2026, with IPF-aligned categories, weigh-in, appeals and referee terms and the new ISF Points formula.

Federation value

A federation protects long-term athlete value: comparable results, appeals, records, referee education, safety, ethics and open data beyond a single event.
